Memphis Crawl was created in New york city in 2004 by frontman Matty
O'Brien.The son of a bluesman from Kentucky,he was singing before he
could even talk and from day one it was clear that the child was a
natural entertainer.After playing in numerous bands in New York, the
rock n roll bug took Matty out to California,where he polished his
songwriting skills and earned the reputation as a vocal powerhouse and
charasmatic frontman.Upon returning to New York he had his sights
set on creating a band that would combine rock,blues,gospel,motown,
soul and even hints of indian music all rolled into a big loud
beautiful beast.The first person that Matty
enlisted was bassist Mad Freik,whom he had played with on and off
since the two were 15 years old,followed by legendary guitarist Bryan
Stevens and the hardest hitting drummer on the planet Michael
Powder.From day one Memphis Crawl became known for their wild and
energetic live performances,which on many occasions have been known to
hit the three hour mark.In january 2011 the Crawl released their EP
entitled "Falling down against the sun" and received epic reviews from
both critics and fans alike.Their music has been has been played all
over the United States,australia,england,and germany and has also
received coverage in numerous top-notch music publications.As of 2012
the band has been non-stop touring as well as writing and recording
their debut full length album,which is set to be released in january
2013.
